Thank you everyone, who joined us on Monday, September 19th for a fundraiser to benefit Burmese refugee boys living at the New Blood Migrant school in Mae Sot, Thailand on Burma's border organized by Burma Relief.

"Burma Captured: In Images and In Spirit" was co-hosted by best-selling author Naomi Wolf, filmmaker Morgan Spurlock ("Supersize Me"), with musical performances by world-renowned pianist Rosa Antonelli, pop/classical singing sensation Elizabeth Tryon and magician Oz Pearlman.

The event took place at the legendary Friar's Club at 57 East 55th Street and included an Open Bar and Buffet Style Dinner. Proceeds will be used towards building a 3,000-square-foot boys' dormitory with bunk beds, electricity, computers, and rooms for the teachers. Event coverage appeared at Wall Street Journal and Daily News.

On October 17th, 2010, The Free Burma Alliance - Amnesty International held its Inaugural NYC all-day conference (co-organized by Network 355), at the Liederkranz Foundation, a beautiful space on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The event lived up to its billing, “Raising Burma Awareness,” drawing nearly 100 attendees to the hall.

On Saturday, October 16th, 2010, The Free Burma Alliance held its semi-annual benefit gala at the venerable Friar’s Club on Manhattan’s Upper East Side co-organized with Network 355. The four-hour event offered many memorable moments and a unique crowd that included Burmese former political prisoners and a multinational community of activists, artists and humanitarian supporters. In attendance were Ms. Mac Maclelland, author of For Us Surrender Is Out of the Question, who was a panelist at the following day’s conference.

On August 5th, 2010 Network 355 and Milena Arciszewski (founder of Pando Projects, www.pandoprojects.org co-hosted a small informal summer soiree/ barbeque networking event.

Free Burma Alliance's (FBA) first fundraiser and advocacy event was a smashing success. Co-hosted by the FBA's executive director, filmmaker Jeremy Taylor, and Network 355's founder Elana Tchainikova at the renowned Friar's Club in New York City was packed with nearly 200 people -- including members of the press -- for this kick-off event.

Prior to the official launch of Network 355 on April 7th, 2010 at the Friar’s Club, our team had been involved in promoting humanitarian causes through Mednik Events- event planning company, created by Network 355 founding member Olga Mednik. Since 2008 Mednik Events has organized a wide variety of afterwork cocktail parties that aimed to promote world cultures as well as several fundraisers for Team Continuum, Doctors without Borders, Edeyo, Partners in Health and others.
